Watch: The final ‘Batman v. Superman’ trailer is the one you’ve been waiting for

Batman Superman Final Trailer

If you thought that some of the previous Batman v. Superman trailers showed too much of Super and not enough Bat, then you’ll be happy to see the final trailer for the movie, which most definitely favors the Dark Knight.

Apple’s ambitions to shake up TV have been a bust so far

Apple TV CBS CEO Moonves

Last year, I expressed some enthusiasm about Apple's new Apple TV set-top box. There was one caveat to this enthusiasm, however -- I assumed that it would soon be followed by the launch of Apple's own TV streaming service that would go head-to-head with Netflix in the battle for our living rooms. That hasn't happened yet and it doesn't look like it's going to happen anytime soon or even at all.

HBO Now has been a big disappointment – but why?

HBO Now Vs. Netflix Subscribers

HBO on Wednesday revealed that HBO Now, the standalone streaming service designed specifically for cord cutters, has only around 800,000 subscribers. This is obviously well below the number of subscribers that HBO has for its bundled cable TV channel and also well below the number of total Netflix subscribers. In all, this is seen as a disappointing start for HBO Now, which was unveiled a year ago as a game changer that could help bring about the end of pricey cable bundles.

The question is, why is HBO Now struggling?

Kickass Torrents now lets you stream movies just like Netflix, as content owners fight back

Kickass Torrents Movie Streaming Netflix

After The Pirate Bay incorporated Torrents Time support in its website a few days ago, Kickass Torrents is now supporting the plugin that lets you stream any movie or TV show you desire in a browser, rather than downloading it and playing it on your computer. Mind you, these services offer access to illegal content, and movie studios are hardly happy with this development.

In fact, the new Torrents Time service that was unveiled only recently, delivered a new blow to copyright holders, as the simple innovation allows anyone to create their Netflix-like Popcorn Time experience.

Even Zoolander and Hansel are mocking Trump over the Iowa ‘couscous’

Zoolander Hansel Trump Iowa SNL

You might think Derek Zoolander and Hansel are just stupid male models who don't pay attention to world events and politics. But it turns out they’re pretty well informed. They know there’s a presidential election coming up and they can totally explain the fashion behind it. Furthermore, they’re very much aware that Donald Trump came in second place at the Iowa “couscous,” and they recently joined the Internet in mocking him.

Streaming illegal movies is now as simple as watching Netflix

Pirate Bay Kickass Torrents Netflix Streaming

Copyright holders have been trying to put a stop to online piracy for years, yet that battle is far from being won. And the cat-and-mouse game has reached new heights, because accessing illegal copies of movies and TV shows is now easier than ever.

Popular torrent sites are adopting a new technology that turns them into Netflix-like services. The Pirate Bay, which gives users access to a large number of titles that can be readily downloaded to their machines, now lets them stream videos directly from the site to a web browser. That means people won’t even have to download a movie. Instead, they’ll just stream it from the site like Netflix.

This type of online service isn’t new. Many people are already familiar with Popcorn Time, the "Netflix for pirates" app that does exactly that: offer pirates direct streams of new movies and TV shows. But a new resource that is part of the Popcorn Time initiative now lets anyone create their own Popcorn Time-like service. And as it turns out, that includes wildly popular torrent sites like The Pirate Bay.

Awesome list of 17 ‘Breaking Bad’ references hidden in ‘Better Call Saul’

Better Call Saul

I'm not typically a fan of TV spinoffs, but Better Call Saul has seemingly broken the spinoff curse that plagues shows looking to capitalize off of the success of previous hits. To be sure, following up Breaking Bad would be a daunting task for any show, but Better Call Saul works precisely because it's not trying to perfectly mirror all the elements that made Vince Gilligan's meth-fueled drama so addictive and compelling. Rather, Better Call Saul seeks to carve out its own unique and independent nook within the larger Breaking Bad universe, and it does so quite successfully.
