Movie Review: Ghostbusters Isn’t Perfect, But It’s So Much Fun You Won’t Care

Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters is a film for anyone who ever watched the first Ghostbusters and thought, “I wish they got to use their guns more.” It’s bigger, brighter, and louder—the sort of movie that features the Ghostbusters shooting ghosts in slow motion set to the iconic theme song. Ghostbusters Proton Pack
The new Ghostbusters movie is set to premiere one week from today and it will be incredibly interesting to see how the film holds up at the box office. You would think with so much craziness happening in the world these days that people would learn to chill a bit when it comes to something as unimportant as a Hollywood movie, but alas, here we are.

Steven Spielberg’s BFG Is Taking a Box Office Beating

Critical reaction to Steven Spielberg’s traditional take on the Roald Dahl classic The BFG has been positive, if mostly ambivalent . The same, sadly, can’t be said for its reception at the box office, where it is setting the world on fire with all the force of the dampest squib.

5 Beyond Brilliant Action Scenes in Movies

5 Beyond Brilliant Action Scenes in Movies

Action movies are fun to watch but there’s a smart way to do action scenes and an epically dumb way to do it. The smart way focuses in on the details, tells a story within a story, and makes sure we know just what the hell is going on amidst all the crazy. The dumb way? Explosions, shaky camera effects, chaos to blur the action, and just a general messiness that doesn’t make any sense but looks cool.
