Unravel review: If Pixar made a game, it might look something like this

Unravel Review

For years, Flower has been the game that I've shown friends and family when I want to prove to them that gaming isn't all about shooting aliens and screaming at strangers over the Internet. Flower is beautiful, tranquil and meaningful, but after all these years, I think a new game has finally taken its place.

That game is Unravel.

‘Star Wars Battlefront’ is a stellar trip, but lacks the depth of its predecessors

Star Wars Battlefront Impressions

After spending several hours with the Star Wars Battlefront beta earlier this fall, I wasn't convinced that EA and DICE had been able to rekindle the magic of the original series. I was also willing to give the small slice of the game available during the beta the benefit of the doubt. After all, Battlefront and Battlefront II thrived on mountains of content.

Sadly, the new Battlefront comes up a little short in that regard.

Star Wars Battlefront Leaked Alpha Footage

Two weeks ago, EA announced that it would hold an open beta for Star Wars Battlefront in early October. For fans of the series, it's going to be a long second half of September, but while you're waiting for the beta to kick off, why not check out some leaked footage from the game's closed alpha test?

EA Star Wars Battlefront Gamescom 2015

If you live in the United States, there's a high probability that you missed EA's Gamescom 2015 press briefing at 4 a.m. ET on Wednesday morning. Although no new games were announced at the briefing, EA had plenty of new footage to show off from the games it spotlighted at E3 2015.

‘Star Wars Battlefront’ Leaked Gameplay Footage: See the Game in Action

Star Wars Battlefront Leaked Gameplay Footage

There were few third-party games as anticipated as Star Wars Battlefront at E3 2015. I wasn't as pleased with the reboot as I'd expected to be, but I only had a chance to play a single match on a single map. Battlefront only really thrives once you get a hang of the character classes and learn the maps backwards and forwards.

Unfortunately, we aren't going to have that opportunity for another few months, but there are gamers out there who are currently participating in the closed alpha, and one of them decided to share some footage from the game.

‘Star Wars Battlefront’ Isn’t the Reboot I Was Looking For

Star Wars Battlefront Preview

Of all the games we knew about before E3 2015 kicked off this week, Star Wars Battlefront might have had the highest profile. Few other games have the pedigree and history of the Battlefront series, fading away before its time with an ambitious third entry canceled before Pandemic Studios could ship it.

After years of silence, Battlefield developer DICE decided to take up the mantle and reboot the series itself. It was one of the biggest reveals of E3 2013, and two years later, I've finally had a chance to play it.

Need for Speed reboot trailer brings the series back underground

Need for Speed 2015 Teaser

Need for Speed: Most Wanted was one of my favorite games of the last generation. It's the second best open world racing game ever made (after the inimitable Forza Horizon 2), but its follow-up, Need for Speed Rivals, just didn't connect with me. I wanted something even bigger and more impressive, but what I got was a conservative step into the new console generation.

A year and a half later, developer Ghost Games is back with another Need for Speed, and the first teaser just went live.

EA exec thinks video games are still too complex for most people

EA Executive Interview Video Games

Are you the kind of person who thinks video games have been getting progressively dumbed down to appeal to more casual audiences? If so then you're out of luck because one EA exec thinks they can get a whole lot dumber.

EA comes up with an ingeniously sleazy new way to milk money from gamers

Need for Speed: No Limits

The freemium game industry just took a twist for the worse — although you can’t help but appreciate the ingenuity of developers in this particular case. EA has decided that players will need gas for their car races inside Need for Speed: No Limits, and the company will sell it to you via in-app purchases.
