Beautiful Video Zooms All Over Vienna, Austria

I’ve never been to Vienna but I can tell you that it is beautiful because this video by FilmSpektakel basically takes you all over the capital of Austria through a fun zooming effect that teleports you to different landmarks. It’s sort of like traveling on a haze of drugs and booze.

This Is Very Probably the Most Beautiful Bike Ride You Could Ever Take

This Is Very Probably the Most Beautiful Bike Ride You Could Ever Take

If only this never ending swirl of beautiful landscapes actually existed on one bike trail. It would be the best ride you could ever get on a bike. Cleverly enough though, this short film called DreamRide by Juicy Studios shows Mike Hopkins riding through Utah, Nevada, California, Oregon, and Washington and it makes it look just like one endless ride. Individually, each location they film at is already stunning. Combined and stitched together and edited like this, the bike ride almost feels magical.

What an Earthrise Looks Like from the Surface of the Moon

Wow. A million wows, really. Here’s a truly spectacular image from NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter that shows Earth in all its glory from the perspective of being on the surface of the Moon. It’s an Earthrise and it’s just gorgeous and amazing to be able to “see” it. The image was “composed from a series of images taken Oct. 12, when LRO was about 83 miles above the moon’s farside crater Compton.”

Proof that the sky is both a magical being and a terrifying force of nature

My favorite parts of Mike Olbinski’s Monsoon II isn’t the terrifying bits where the sky turns evil dark monster and decides to pour lightning and strike water down onto the ground but when it dances around like a balletic being and then notices that we’re watching and moves its clouds so it envelopes us all. What a world to look up to.

Surfing has never looked more majestic than in this drone video

The waves of Teahupo’o in Tahiti are so lovely that surfing them is the only way to truly appreciate them. Or, well, I guess watching other people surf through this drone video is a pretty damn good way to see its majestic beauty too. Brent Bielmann and Eric Sterman shot this drone video for Surfing Magazine and it captures angles of surfers and the glassy waves like we never seen them before.

Proof that dusk and dawn are the best times of the day

People like dawn because it’s the start of the new day and the illusion of opportunity exists as light breaks the night. I like dawn because when I see the sun rise it meant I had a great night. But dusk is more my speed, the world comes alive in a completely different way. In any case, dusk and dawn are the best times of the day.
