How AMD plans to beat Intel and Nvidia in 2017

There's really no denying that AMD has had a pretty rough go of it the past few years. The company's two-headed battle against Intel on the CPU front and Nvidia on the GPU side has resulted in a lack of meaningful updates for either, and a general feeling of indifference among many AMD faithful. But 2017 could change all of that, and even though Nvidia and Intel have both built even more impressive leads over their competitor than they already had, AMD isn't throwing in the towel just yet.

AMD’s Ryzen threatens to destroy Intel’s gaming supremacy

Intel's Core processors have long been the overwhelming favorite amongst PC gamers when compared to AMD's alternatives. AMD's chips have impressive specs of their own, and have been shown to outperform Intel's hardware under certain circumstances, but unlocked i7 processors from Intel are still the go-to for overclockers and enthusiasts. AMD would love to change that, and it's going to try with the new Ryzen chip architecture. Some recently released benchmarks show that AMD is at least on the right track.

AMD challenges Intel with amazing next-gen laptop processors

AMD Intel 2016 Laptop Processors
Computex 2016 is the place to be if you want to see a kick-ass battle between computing giants. Intel wasn’t the only company to announce some incredibly fast new silicon at the show, and Intel's 10-core desktop CPU isn’t the only marvelous thing coming out of Computex. AMD has unveiled a variety of mobile chips that are supposed to be even faster than what Intel has to offer.

AMD Radeon RX 480 Graphics Card
AMD wants everyone to be able to experience virtual reality. Taking the stage at Computex this week, AMD unveiled its new Polaris architecture-based Radeon RX 480 graphics card, which features more than 5 teraflops of computing power, requires 150W of power to run and costs just $199.

AMD’s Graphics Card for VR Is Stupid Powerful and Horribly Expensive

The specs needed to just power a VR headset are painfully high, so it stands to reason that the hardware used by developers to make those games will need to be something special. That’s what AMD is trying to deliver with its new Radeon Pro Duo, unveiled at the Game Developer’s Conference today.

AMD’s Powerful New R9 Nano Graphics Card Fits In Small Places

This year, I bought myself an Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 graphics card. It was time to upgrade. And I was pleasantly surprised to find I could buy a mini version of one of the best cards ever made. Now, I can potentially fit my beefy gaming PC into a console-sized case. But a new card from AMD is about to do small and powerful even better.
