Add two fast-charging USB ports to any wall outlet without messing with a single wire

USB Wall Outlet Amazon

Everyone wants to add USB ports to their home wall outlets these days. After all, what’s the point of old school wall adapters when most of your devices ship with USB cables? The problem, of course, is that most people don’t want to have to bother with shutting their power off and fumbling with wires. And the idea of paying an electrician to install them is just crazy. Here’s another option: check out the White Rock 3.0A Smart USB Wall Outlet. It’s basically a brilliant cover plate that snaps on in place of your old one, and it auto-magically draws power without you having to mess with any wires. It also includes fast charging capability as an added bonus.

Here’s what you need to know from the product page:

  • Easy and quick to install on any existing power outlet at home. No wiring. Just replace the plate with the plate provided. It takes 30 seconds only!
  • Both USB ports have smart power transfer management controllers for fast-charging iPhones, iPad, iPad mini, Samsung, LG and other Android phones and tablet.
  • Tamper-resistant material for maximum electrical safety. Full certifications for USA. 2 year warranty.

White Rock - 3.0A Smart Fast Quick Charger USB Wall Outlet - 30 seconds to get 2 USB sockets on…: $14.99

No smartphone needs 8GB of RAM, especially not a Nokia

Nokia 9 Specs: 8GB of RAM

How much RAM is too much on an Android phone? That’s a question smartphone makers are yet to answer, as they keep pushing the envelope in the memory department. Most flagship handsets ship with 4GB of RAM and more memory should help with app performance. But customers in certain markets like China want even more RAM than that. That’s why you get OnePlus handsets with 6GB of RAM or why Samsung’s Galaxy S8 for Asia comes in a 6GB RAM flavor. A new report says that Nokia’s flagship phone might ship with as much as 8GB of RAM on board, or the amount of memory you’d find on a decent-to-pro laptop.

Screens 4, which just released for the Mac earlier this week, brings a bevy of new features to the table in an effort to make the app even easier to use. In this week’s Friday 5, we highlight a few of the new features that we especially appreciate. more…

Has Been Heroes

Has-Been Heroes is a roguelike action game featuring a band of heroes on a quest to escort the King's twin princesses to magic Academy. The game combines strategy and action into a mix where you control three characters and focus on combining spells and items for devastating combo effects! Has-Been Heroes features a young rogue, a wishful wannabe hero, who stumbles across a pair of old, battle-worn heroes. They receive the ultimate quest from the King - escort his precious twin princesses to Princess Academy, on the far side of the world. Eager for heroics, the young rogue joins the band of heroes and the trio put their best foot forward. As the heroes travel across the world, they come across a wide variety of enemies - ranging from bad-breath skeletons and zombies to evil spirits, the meanest of all enemies (100% evil!). Each enemy type (and enemy subclass) has specific attributes and immunities - evil spirits cannot be hit by melee attacks, for example, so the player needs to make them hittable by using spells of a certain type. New characters are unlocked during the course of the game. The new heroes are each unique with custom attributes and a set of different starting items/spells that give the player an edge in combat - or a vulnerability. Each run is unique with random encounters, spell and item drops, as well as regions. The game features 200 items and 100 spells to unlock. Only a fraction of these are available in the first run, and obtaining new items and spells is a game changer for the player. Death in Has-Been Heroes is a common occurrence and permanent, and the player has to start over. However, death comes bearing gifts, literally! Over 100 hours of gameplay Has-Been Heroes has a story that keeps on growing as the player plays and completes the game. New story layers are added with each playthrough. 2D art style with visually stunning spell effects.

Has Been Heroes Nintendo Switch: $37.79

The Marc Newson Hourglass For Hodinkee shows us time is a nanoball

“Can anyone tell me what this is?” the teacher asked. Outside the rust rains had come again and the building reacted by assembling a nano sphere shield. They would be inside until it stopped. None of the children were old enough for the skin adaptation. She might as well keep them busy. She held up half of a glass object, the top edge crude and sharp. “A cup?” asked… Read More
