While the Pixel 2 might not be the sleekest or most powerful Android phone on the market when it launches later this month, Google always saves a few surprises for its own phones. We covered several of them in our roundup of the 10 best features of the Pixel 2, including the Now Playing feature, which allows the phone to constantly listen for music in the background and identify it, displaying the title and artist of the song on the screen.

Sadly, there has been no indication that this feature will come to any Android phones other than the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, but it turns out that you can replicate the feature on any phone, including an iPhone, with a free app.

You can get your hands on the Google Pixel 2 starting tomorrow

Google Pixel 2 release date, best plans Verizon vs T-Mobile

The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL won't be released until October 19th, but Verizon is going to tease you all the way until release date. Starting tomorrow, both new Pixels will be available for hands-on messing with in all Verizon corporate stores across the country, thanks to Verizon's exclusive deal with Google to distribute the Pixel 2.

Google is really working to make sure that consumers get a chance to go hands-on with the new devices. The company is opening two pop-up temporary stores, one in NYC and one in LA. Both stores will have Google's new Pixel, as well as the Pixel Buds and other hardware that Google released alongside the new phones.

Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire

Just two days after debuting a new teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi during Monday Night Football, Disney has shared yet another trailer -- this one for the upcoming Secrets of the Empire immersive VR experience coming to Disney Springs in Orlando, Florida and Downtown Disney in Anaheim, California this winter.

This "hyper-reality experience" from Lucasfilm, ILMxLAB and The Void will allow up to four park visitors to disguise themselves as stormtroopers, do battle and solve puzzles, all within a virtual reality realm.

OnePlus has been silently collecting all sorts of data from users

The #NeverSettle smartphone maker has found a new way to irk users and alienate potential customers. OnePlus, the Chinese company that made a name for itself with its budget “flagship killers,” had to deal with various controversies this year, most of them related to the OnePlus 5 launch. Sadly, it’s not over.

A new report shows that OnePlus has been collecting a treasure trove of information about its customers, and it looks awful. There’s no good reason for the company to obtain this much data, no matter what OnePlus will tell us.
