Amazon massacre? Members of uncontacted tribe killed by miners, reports say

Members of an uncontacted tribe, said to include women and children, have allegedly been massacred by gold miners in a remote part of the Brazilian Amazon.

Federal prosecutors in Brazil have opened an investigation into the reported massacre of about 10 members of the tribe, according to the New York Times.

Volkswagen’s new electric SUV looks amazing and has the dumbest possible name

Volkswagen, fresh off of its incredibly embarrassing dieselgate controversy, would like to do everything possible to make you forget that it tried to cheat emissions regulations and sent literally millions of vehicles out into the world that were incredibly dirty. To that end, the company is pushing its electric vehicle efforts hard as of late, and it just released a newly updated look at one of its more promising concepts, the Volkswagen ID Crozz. Sweet mercy, what a horrible name.

Samsung is already working on the Galaxy S8’s Android Oreo update

Galaxy S8 Android 8.0 Oreo

Google’s Android 8.0 is out, complete with a very cool name, but that doesn’t mean you can get it right now unless you own Pixel or Nexus hardware. Sadly, it’ll be a while until smartphone makers launch phones that run Oreo out of the box, or update their existing models to it. Samsung is one of them, and a report says the company is already working on the Oreo update for the Galaxy S8, with a beta trial expected to be offered to interested customers soon.

Qualcomm touts ‘Android firsts’ as it hilariously tries to steal Apple’s iPhone X thunder

While much of the tech world is focused on tomorrow’s iPhone 8 and iPhone X announcement, Qualcomm is seemingly trying to steal a bit of Apple’s thunder. The chipmaker today shared a blog post highlighting the “Android firsts brought to you by Qualcomm,” which is basically its way of pointing out features that Android had before iPhone.
